Gift In Your Will

Every year the Mental Health Association QLD reaches out to thousands of people who are seeking help for issues related to mental health. You can help MHAQ continue to provide vital mental health services by leaving a bequest in your will to MHAQ.

Your gift will help MHAQ’s commitment to provide quality, accessible mental health services to Australians.

Leaving a gift in your will is easy

Leaving a gift in your will is a simple process that could make a real difference.

If you do not have a will and wish to create one, it is a good idea to get legal advice. If you don't have a solicitor you can contact the Public Trustee in your state or territory.

If you already have a will, then all you need to do is add a codicil – a short legal amendment to your existing will.

Wording for your will

To include MHAQ in your will we suggest that you use the following wording (subject to legal advice):

“I give (free of all duties) the sum of $... to the Mental Health Association QLD and I direct that the receipt of its treasurer, secretary or public officer for the time being shall be an absolute discharge to my Trustee. I declare a general charitable intention in relation to this gift."

“I give (free of all duties) ….% of the whole of my estate to the Mental Health Association QLD and I direct that the receipt of its treasurer, secretary or public officer for the time being shall be an absolute discharge to my Trustee. I declare a general charitable intention in relation to this gift.”

“I give (free of all duties) the residue of my estate to the Mental Health Association QLD and I direct that the receipt of its treasurer, secretary or public officer for the time being shall be an absolute discharge to my Trustee. I declare a general charitable intention in relation to this gift.”
